Light and Dark 2016 Registrations Open!

The Light and Dark Character Design Competition is now live and taking registrations for 2016!

The competition is open to year 11 – 13 secondary school students nationwide.

Students are challenged with designing an original character that can depict both a light and dark emotion from emotion sets provided.

The Light and Dark Character Design Competition runs for 7 weeks (12 April - 29 May) and offers a unique opportunity for entrants to join a feedback group on Facebook, where they may upload their progress as they go and receive tips and hints to improve their character designs.

Students also have access to helpful video tutorials, which they can watch to improve their drawing skills, as well as weekly giveaways and mini competitions.

The concept behind Light and Dark is to encourage artists to push their designs, improve fundamental skills and most importantly share and create within a wider community of artists from around the country. The competition also offers a springboard launching creative talent with prize packs including cash, hardware, software and plenty of other goodies for the young creative.

Now in its third year Light and Dark has some really amazing sponsors: Adobe, Wacom, Gordon Harris The Art and Graphics Store, technology specialists Playtech, Adonit, BenQ and Arkham City Comics who help provide a first place prize pool worth over $10,000.

Last year’s entries were amazing and we can’t wait to see what students produce this year!
